Learning from a "master"
I have been studying with a "master". His name is Jim Lewis.
I read his book, Kakaskaska, which documents his journey down the Mississippi. I had to meet him and pick his brain. Little did I know that he and his wife, Sharon, would welcome me into their home and that he would paddle with me from the headwaters to Minneapolis. In those three weeks he would teach me about paddling, camping, planning, safety, and savoring the journey. One "grows with the river" but Jim's coaching has prepared me for not only this trip but for life itself.
Thanks, Jim!
